French Creek (Short)

Ah, French Creek, how I love to hate thee!

The “love/hate” relationship that I have with the disc golf course at French Creek State Park in Elverson, PA. is one born of the need to play our beloved game “among the trees”, while not playing the game “on the trees”, “against the trees”, “high up in the trees”, or (my personal favorite) “behind the trees.” This course requires you to have the precision of a surgeon as well as the improvisational skills of a jazz musician. The fairways are long and narrow, with diabolical turns and insidious rough. Elevation changes, rocky footing, and a rather demonic amount of insects all add to the already difficult course design. If you are going to challenge French Creek, be sure to bring your heavy-soled shoes, your “big boy/girl” pants, and an industrial-sized barrel of bug spray!

Note: As of mid-June, several of the holes (#14 and #15) at French Creek are unplayable due to extensive storm damage. Currently, the best way to play the course is to walk from the basket of Hole #13 to the tee of either Hole #16 or Hole #17. When those missing holes become available, I will remove this notification.
